“Escaping from grey Berlin, which suddenly lacked its infamous soul and DNA, the countryside by the sea of Portugal felt like the most right place to live during that time. A time of pure uncertainty, where the Atlantic and its vastness were kind a guarantee - sometimes quiet, sometimes rough. Endless coastlines, with the vibrant metropolis of Lisbon at its back. After my parents moved from Portugal to Germany with me when I was two years old, I got to know my roots more intensively than ever before. Daily life, surrounded by astonishing nature. I fell in love with my roots - once again. The flood of emotions resulted in "Caparica“, an ode to the self-titled area.” -Rafael
