Portuguese artist currently based in Berlin, Jepe is no stranger to Isolate, having featured on the second edition of the label’s vital Mutations VA series in 2020 with the smouldering and emotional ‘Behind Closed Doors’. Fresh from appearances on the likes of Moodmusic, Voltaire and Aeon those doors a wide open with ‘Daze Of Lust’...

The mood is set with ‘Venus Capture’, a stunning collaboration between Jepe, Claudio Ricci and the disarming vocals and songwriting prowess of Isadora. Establishing the sultry, emotional tone and parameters of the EP, it’s a beautiful entry point into Jepe’s psyche and leads to a series of heavier, abstract club bangers such kicking off with ‘Daze Of Lust’, a stuttering trippy missive guaranteed to put any dancefloor in a daze of lust, love and deep, deep hypnosis.

Jepe’s mind-blurring maze of sounds and techniques continues on ‘Out Of The Blue’ where a similar staggered, time-defying blend of textures stretches out over a high voltage bassline and a sudden switch mid-way before ‘Die Halle’ brings an emphatic and poignant finale. A slightly slower tempo and more of a triumphant feel to the hooky, infectious riff; ‘Die Halle’ is one of those game-changing tracks that completely shatters a crowd then rebuilds it into something even wilder and more emotional. The daze clears, the lust is stronger than ever. We’re feeling the love for both Jepe and Isolate right about now.
